Get ready to dance like a zombie!
Students will learn a kid-friendly version of Michael Jackson’s legendary “Thriller” while exploring performance, creativity, and imagination. In addition to choreography, dancers will learn character development, create their own zombie (complete with costume design), and practice theatrical makeup techniques in a safe, age-appropriate environment.
The session culminates in a live performance at El Segundo’s Halloween Frolic, where students will bring their zombie characters to life on stage for family and friends!
Fee Includes: Basic zombie makeup and costume material fees.
Disclaimer: Students will be shown age-appropriate clips from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and The Making of Thriller for educational and performance reference.
Instructor Bios
Grace Maxwell – Owner and Creative Director of Athletic Grace Dance Studio, Grace has taught dance for over 25 years and has been instrumental in bringing the Thriller experience to the El Segundo community for more than 15 years. She continues to inspire dancers of all ages through her unique fusion of performance, storytelling, and community engagement.
William Martin – William Martin is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been featured in the acclaimed stop-motion film Wendell & Wild (2022). With a background in the theme park industry, his creative contributions can be found in immersive attractions at Universal Studios and Disney. William brings his artistic expertise and visual storytelling skills to the studio, helping students explore theatrical design and creative expression..
