A class designed for the adults with absolutely no ballet experience. This 60 minute class covers covers basic ballet positions, steps and vocabulary with a focus on the student's awareness of proper posture and body alignment. Standing barre work and center floor exercises will be given to enhance coordination, strength, balance and flexibility.
Advanced Beginning Ballet: 6/27/22 - 7/25/22

Advanced Beginning Ballet: The advanced beginner dancer has an understanding of basic ballet steps, body positions, and port de bras. This dancer can follow basic petit and grande allegro combinations and is now ready to be introduced to more advanced ballet technique. At this level, more complicated steps are broken down into component parts and combinations are reviewed as much as necessary.Â
What to bring: Please bring a towel, bottled water and ballet slippers. You may wear traditional ballet attire such as a leotard, tights, and ballet skirt. Or, you can wear any yoga attire such as leggings, tank tops or t-shirts.

These classes are for adults with previous ballet training and solid technique. The intermediate dancer can process more complicated sequences, can execute barre exercises with greater speed and accuracy and is expected to coordinate arm and leg movements smoothly. Center floor work requires a greater ability to use core strength and balance and incorporates more challenging petite and grande allegro steps and turns.Â
What to bring: Please bring a towel, bottled water and ballet slippers.You may wear traditional ballet attire such as a leotard, tights, and ballet skirt. Or, you can wear any yoga attire such as leggings, tank tops or t-shirts. Both you and the instructor need to see your body alignment and wearing baggy clothing does not help.Â
